St Charles Operations

Volunteerism

the LaBranche Wetland Watcher event

Middle school students learn about the wetlands at the LaBranche Wetland Watcher event, which was sponsored by Dow and supported by employee volunteers.

If there is a community activity in the area then chances are there will be a St. Charles Operations (SCO) employee involved. From United Way to building homes to tutoring students, SCO volunteers give freely of their time to improve the quality of life in their communities. We recognize that employee involvement within the community fits hand-in-hand with the company focus on Sustainable Development. Hundreds of SCO employees volunteered their time annually to assist with numerous activities to benefit area communities:

Educational Activities:
Junior Achievement Instructors, Career Day Speakers, Science and Social Studies competition judging, Senior Project judging, School Supply Drive, Student mentoring, Holiday visits to schools (Easter, Christmas), Job Shadowing, Process Technology volunteer instructors

Charitable Activities:
Blood drives, toy drives, United Way donations and events, Safe Harbor house repair projects, and food drives

Environmental Activities:
Keystone Science School Sponsorship, Earthkeepers Sponsorship, Household Hazardous Material Collection Day, Clean Team – Adopt-A-Road, Annual Trash Bash, Project Pal (Protect a Living Legacy), La Branche Wetlands Watchers

We are proud of our employees who volunteer time and energy to educational, charitable and environmental activities. Our products and our people make a difference!
