Amerchol Corporation to market HAMPOSYL surfactants and METHOCEL cellulose ethers
According to Tom Malafronte, Business Director for Amerchol, "The addition of these products to our portfolio-and the application and technical experts that support them-increases our ability to bring more complete solutions to our customers as well as to simplify the way they do business. In the near future, we will become the single interface for personal care customers for a wide range of formulation additives from Dow, Union Carbide, Hampshire Chemical, and Amerchol." METHOCEL cellulose ethers are used in hair and skin care products, cleansers and cosmetics. They can combine lather enhancement, film formation, thickening, lubrication, and emulsifying properties. HAMPOSYL surfactants include HAMPOSYL n-acyl sarcosinates and HAMPOSYL acyl glutamates, which are known for their lathering performance and mildness. The product line also includes LGB thickener and gelation agent for hair care products, baby oils, and cosmetics. Amerchol's existing personal care product line includes UCARET conditioning polymers, GLUCAMATET thickeners and emulsifiers, UCONT fluids, POLYOXT water soluble resins, CELLOSIZET hydroxyethyl cellulose, lanolin derivatives, and dozens of other products. Amerchol Corporation is a global manufacturer and marketer of performance chemicals for use in personal care applications, primarily conditioners, moisturizers and emollients. These products are sold to end-use producers as ingredients in consumer skin care and hair care products. Amerchol is known for its dedicated service to the industry and its functional product line. The company's line consists of more than 100 products, approximately 60 of which are produced in four manufacturing facilities-Edison, NJ; Greensburg, LA; Xiaolan, China; and Vilvoorde, Belgium. They also market and sell many other specialty products for Dow in the personal care industry. Dow is a leading science and technology company that provides innovative chemical, plastic and agricultural products and services to many essential consumer markets.
