Filming Aids
Filming aids are required to obtain optimum film formation with certain latexes. Use 5-10% based on total polymer solids. Butyl CELLOSOLVE™ Solvent, phenyl glycol ethers, and UCAR™ FILMER EHC have proved useful in many formulations.

Curing
Optimum properties are normally achieved with UCAR latexes at bake cycles of 5-10 minutes at 300°F. A catalyst level of 0.5 to 1 percent on latex solids is suggested.

Viscosity Adjustment
Thickeners may be used to increase the viscosity of coatings based on many UCAR latexes. Recommended thickeners are CELLOSIZE Hydroxyethyl Cellulose and ammonium polyacrylates, such as Acrysol G-110.
