UCAR Thickener 146
UCAR™ Thickener 146 is an alkali-soluble, acrylic thickener. It is supplied as a low viscosity, low pH latex emulsion. Raising the pH causes the polymer to solubilize and the resultant solutions have high viscosity. The solution viscosity is controlled by the crosslinked, high molecular weight polymer.
UCAR Thickener 146 can be used in many kinds of aqueous paints and adhesives. It is compatible with most of the common latex polymers, surfactants, and dispersants. The pH of the formulated product must be controlled to obtain good performance and reproducible viscosity. Typical Properties(1)
