EVOCAR™ Latex DA 281

UCAR Emulsion Systems presents EVOCAR™ Latex DA 281 as a first-generation ethylene-modified polymer for use in architectural coatings. The incorporation of ethylene into UESM’s technology portfolio presents more options for formulators to address a wide range of latex performance characteristics for low volatile organic compound (VOC) paint binders.

EVOCAR Latex DA 281 represents the next evolutionary step in vinyl acetate based binders. This modified vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) polymer combines low VOC technology with improved scrub resistance, touch-up, and block resistance, offering enhanced performance compared to conventional and low VOC vinyl acrylics.

EVOCAR Latex DA 281 exhibits the following performance characteristics:

  • Good block resistance in low VOC semigloss and satin formulations
  • Excellent scrub resistance
  • Excellent low-temperature touch-up potential
  • Low VOC formulating capability
