UCAR Latex 9181 UCAR™ Latex 9181 is an inherently pressure-sensitive acrylic copolymer emulsion product. Designed to be a base resin for high-performance labels and specialty adhesives, it will typically require the addition of a coater package for coater application.
UCAR Latex 9181 features the following performance characteristics:
- Excellent balance of high surface tack, peel adhesion, and cohesive strength
- High adhesion on curved surfaces with small radii
- Excellent adhesion to both polar and nonpolar surfaces
- High clarity
- Low shrinkage and excellent stability when aged
- Easy to formulate: self-thickens with increasing pH, is crosslinkable through carboxyl groups, and can be tackified with a number of commercial tackifiers
- Conformance to FDA 21CFR175.105
This makes UCAR Latex 9181 well suited as a base polymer for formulating adhesives for permanent labels, consumer and industrial specialty tapes, decorative and protective sheets, as well as vinyl film decals.
