UCAR Latex 626 UCAR™ Latex 626 is a 100% acrylic polymer designed for use as the binder in exterior trim and interior semigloss coatings and floor paints. Inherent polymer characteristics provide an excellent balance of properties for these applications, including gloss, adhesion (wet and dry), and grain cracking resistance. When used in a suitable formulation, the system provides excellent rheology, paint stability, and color acceptance. UCAR Latex 626 also has value as an enhancing latex. For example, vinyl-acrylic-based coatings can be modified to provide increased adhesion to aged alkyd substrate. Moreover, such modification will not produce the "pinking" effect seen when certain mildewcides are employed in the formulation.
