STYROFOAM High Load 60 extruded polystyrene insulation is a closed cell extruded polystyrene foam insulation designed to meet the high strength requirements of ASTM C578 (TYPE VII) specifications. It combines a minimum compressive strength of 60 PSI with the excellent physical property characteristics of all STYROFOAM brand insulation products. As a result, it resists compressive creep and fatigue and delivers the long-term compressive strength and R-value retention needed for high load applications. It is ideal for use in low temperature (freezer floor) applications in warehouses with rack-supported roof systems or where high density products such as meat are stored. It is also recommended for insulating airport runways, highways and helicopter landing pads where moderately heavy to heavy loads are expected.

Nominal Board Thickness** R-Value Board Size Edge Treatment Min Compressive Strength

3.0" 15 24" x 96" Square Edge 60 psi

Building Code Compliance

Complies with ASTM C 578 Type VII. Meets IBC/IRC requirements for foam plastic insulation. See ICBO-ES ER 2257, BOCA-ES RR 21-02, NES NER 699, Und. Lab. Inc.® Classified, see Classification Certificate D369.

**Not all product sizes are available in all regions.
R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. R-values are expressed in ft2•h•°F/Btu.
Vertical compressive strength is measured at 10% deformation (5% for STYROFOAM PLAZAMATE insulation and for STYROFOAM HIGHLOAD 40, 60 and 100 insulation products) or at yield, whichever occurs first. Since STYROFOAM extruded polystyrene and Dow polyisocyanurate insulation products are visco-elastic materials, adequate design safety factors should be used to prevent long-term creep. For static loads, 3-1 is suggested. For dynamic loads, 5-1 is suggested.
