A non-woven, non-perforated, polyolefin-based wrap, STYROFOAM WEATHERMATE Plus housewrap forms a continuous membrane that helps protect walls from damaging bulk water and air infiltration, safeguarding against costly energy loss. Water-sensitive sheathings are kept drier, reducing the potential for rot, degradation and energy loss within the wall cavity. The permeability of STYROFOAM WEATHERMATE Plus housewrap allows water vapour to escape from behind the housewrap when vapour drive is from the inside out.
In combination with exterior finishes, which should function as the primary water barrier in a wall, STYROFOAM WEATHERMATE Plus housewrap is a secondary defense against water intrusion.
