The latest Habitat for Humanity home on the Westside, located on California Street in Port Allen, was completed and dedicated May 8.

Dow served as the lead sponsor for the build, and was joined by volunteers from dozens of other community organizations and businesses. Also supporting the effort was Congressman Richard Baker. This build was part of the “Congress Builds America” campaign.

Rosalind Campbell (pictured fourth from right), who works at Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary, and her son (far left) and daughter (center) will live in the new home. As part of her Habitat commitment, Johnson had to volunteer 350 work construction hours on her home and additional Habitat Homes.

Joining Rosalind at the dedication ceremony were: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge Executive Director Ann Schiffman, Congressman Richard Baker, Habitat volunteer Jerry Moore, Dow employee and Habitat Westside Chairperson Donna Carville, Habitat volunteer and Dow retiree Richard Trepagnier, and Dupont Dow Elastomers employee Bill Menke. Menke served as the construction leader for the build.
