Midland, Michigan — July 17 – 24, 2002

The Dow Chemical Company continued its support of Habitat for Humanity at a 2002 summer blitz build in Midland. Dow contributed STYROFOAM* extruded polystyrene insulation for the frame walls and foundations of the new home. Dow also sponsored the home, slated for Dale and Brenda Valley and their four children, who range in age from 2 to 13 years old. More than 100 Dow executives and employees worked alongside the future homeowners during the build.

The blitz was held in conjunction with the Midland Foundation’s annual River Days event. The Valley’s four-bedroom ranch home was built at the Ashman Court Hotel near the landmark Tridge before being moved to its permanent location on Gerald Court in Midland.

Habitat is an ideal way for Dow to demonstrate and live its values.
