Flame/Smoke Performance

Specifications for flame/smoke performance in commercial and industrial buildings are governed by various building codes. To provide products with the most market and application versatility, Dow maintains third-party listings of flame spread and smoke developed ratings for its TRYMER™ and STYROFOAM™ insulation products. Each insulation material is tested for flame spread/smoke developed performance at particular thicknesses, based on ASTM E84.

TRYMER™ 2000 XP polyisocyanurate foam meets the ASTM E84 Class A/Class 1 flame spread/smoke developed rating, making it acceptable by most building codes for use in a return air plenum at thicknesses up to and including 1 inch (2.5 cm).
