When is insulation required to structure below ground?
Structure below ground has to be insulated when there are heated rooms in the basement of a building. The amount of insulation required will be determined by the SAP 2005 or SBEM calculation, but the average U-values must be 0.35 or less for walls and 0.25 or less for floors.
