Installation sequence

1. Ensure the substrate is dry, free from projections, irregularities and gaps.
   
2. Lay vapour control layer.
   
3. Lay ROOFMATE™ RL-X boards broken bond with the long edges at an angle of 45º - 90º to the crowns of the decking. Tightly join all boards to form a continuous layer over the roof.
   
4. Secure each board to the decking with three fixings, evenly distributed and installed in accordance with the fixing manufacturer’s instructions. Half boards or smaller require only two fixings.
   
5. Cut ROOFMATE RL-X boards to fit against upstands and penetrations with a saw or sharp knife.
   
6. Cover ROOFMATE RL-X boards with a separating layer (if specified) followed by the waterproofing membrane and secure it as soon as possible.
   
7. Remove and store unused boards overnight.

Key points

• Where persistent impact is likely, protect ROOFMATE RL-X boards with a suitable underlay board or protective slabs.
• When hot air welding seams in the waterproof membrane take care not to damage ROOFMATE RL-X insulation by excessive heat.
• When solvent welding seams, do not let solvent come into direct contact with the ROOFMATE RL-X boards.
