Taiwan CKS Airport has a lightweight, long span metal roof deck, which is a common feature at new airports throughout the world. ROOFMATE* 500 Insulation was installed directly on top of the metal deck to reduce the weight of the roofing structure.
Boards of ROOFMATE Insulation were cut to the same width as the seam joints and installed between them. Then two layers of lightweight protection boards and single-ply membrane followed it.
Lightweight metal roof decks are also used on other structures such as warehouses, terminal buildings and plants. Their light weight allows for longer spans and greater design flexibility.
