SAFECHEM Europe GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. This provides complete and comprehensive technical service to our customers.

Solvent Analysis and Oil Compatibility Analysis
To provide complete assurance that the combination of your solvent, oil and cleaning equipment is delivering peak performance, we recommend that you send samples of your solvent and oil to the Dow laboratory for analysis. The solvent analysis should be repeated at regular intervals (recommendation: 3 times a year). This will help you protect your valuable investment from damage caused by sudden stabilisation loss.

Laboratory Solvent Analysis

Analysis of solvent quality parameters including
• Stabiliser profile
• Acidity/Alkalinity
• Chloride test
• Water content
• Co-products and decomposition products
• Test report with recommendations

Oil Compatibility Analysis

•	To predict how contaminants will affect solvent stabiliser system/quality of distillation/metal parts
•	Test report with recommendations

Chemical and Technical Consultation

•	Consultation on issues related to use of chlorinated solvents in your specific production facility

Laboratory Solvent Analysis
Gas chromatography-based test technology determines solvent quality (i.e., water content, stabiliser profile, total acid acceptance, co-products and decomposition products). Acid content, pH value and chloride concentration are also measured. When you request a solvent analysis, you receive an Analysis Kit containing a sample tube and forms to be completed for returning the sample to the laboratory.

Oil Compatibility Analysis
Helps determine how materials such as cutting oils, lubricants and contaminants will react with a solvent or its stabiliser under actual operating conditions. After the analysis is completed, you receive a detailed report on the compatibility of your processing agent and the solvent you are considering. When you request an oil compatibility analysis, you receive an Analysis Kit containing a sample tube and forms to be completed for returning the sample to the laboratory.

Chemical and Technical Consultation
The SAFECHEM and Dow Technical Service Departments provide consultation on all issues related to the use of chlorinated solvents, from handling practices to the optimisation of your cleaning process or implementation of new solvents and cleaning solutions.
