Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a key component of Dow’s business strategy globally and in our Region. We place a high value on listening to the communities and strive not just to be a good neighbor, but a global corporate citizen.

The Dow Chemical Company’s corporate citizenship program designed for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) illustrates our commitments through preserving and investing in communities, creating products to help advance human progress, and engaging employees to contribute to a higher quality of life in the communities where we live and work in.

Below are some of Dow's CSR projects in Russia and CIS
2010 Chekhov, Russia: Dow supported the celebration of the Defender of the Fatherland Day organized at a Chekhov local boarding-school for disabled children, and made a relevant contribution to making this an effective educational event for the pupils. Read more about Donations project in Chekhov.
2009 Moscow, Russia: Dow provided help to the Charity Fund “Grant a Life” sustaining the cellular typing laboratory to ensure medical treatment of patients with all forms of leukemia or blood diseases.
2009 Chekhov, Russia: Through Dow’s donations, Chekhov local boarding-school for disabled children purchased sport equipment to enable recreational activities and ensure the children’s healthy way of life.  
2009 Feodosia, Ukraine: Dow helped to improve living conditions for less-privileged children in the orphanage boarding school in Feodosia. The water supply was improved, while the roof of the orphanage was reconstructed and improved with thermal and waterproof insulation of Dow Izolan products.
2009 Moscow, Russia: Dow offered support to Operation Hope, a non-profit Russian organization providing free-of-charge help to premature babies suffering from hydrocephalus.
2008 Feodosia, Ukraine: Dow provided access to clean drinking water for more than 1 000 disabled children through installation of water treatment equipment in 4 orphanages in Ukraine.
2008 Western Ukraine: Dow offered relief to the victims of floods by providing 600 liters of drinking water to the Ukrainian Red Cross that distributed the bottles among the population.
2008 Moscow, Russia: Dow supported organization of winter and summer camps for underprivileged children together with the Operation Camp regional association.
2008 Chekhov, Russia: Dow donated a vehicle to the Local Emergency Services of the Chekhov Region for the transportation of dialyzed people to the rehabilitation Center in Kolomna, located about 100 km from Chekhov.
