All great companies are built on a single, simple principle: to meet the needs of their customers and their markets in ways that create new sources of value and opportunity. Throughout our 112-year history, it has been a source of pride for all of us at The Dow Chemical Company to be exactly that kind of company for our customers around the world.
Today, it is my privilege to share with you the news that The Dow Chemical Company has completed our acquisition of Rohm and Haas. By combining the significant experience of Rohm and Haas in specialties and advanced materials with Dow’s best-in-class technologies and industry leadership position, we will bring our customers a stronger product offering, greater breadth of services, and increased global presence. More than ever, we are focused on meeting and exceeding your expectations.
With this acquisition, we have established the Dow Advanced Materials division, the world’s preeminent advanced materials organization. I am pleased to announce that Pierre Brondeau has been named president and CEO of the new division.
In the near term, you can expect no significant change in how you interact with your Account representatives and with the company as a whole. We will provide you with timely information and updates as we create new combined sources of value and opportunity for our customers.
On behalf of the men and women of Dow, I want to thank you for your continued business and welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our new capabilities. If you have any questions, please contact your Account representative.
We value your business and look forward to expanding our relationship with your company in the future.
Sincerely,
Andrew N. Liveris
Chairman and CEO
