Demonstrating the introduction of novel renewable Polyurethane materials for high quality, top design and sustainable shoes.

The Green Footprint Project led by Dow Italia, s.r.l., introduces renewable polyurethane materials for high quality, top designed, stylish shoes. The purpose of the project is to showcase the production of shoes made from new, bio-based, Dow Polyurethane Systems featuring RENUVA™ Renewable Resource Technology and their introduction into the footwear market.

Dow is working with Mondial Suole to demonstrate that using these polyurethane systems based on renewable resources is attractive and beneficial for footwear manufactures.

In addition to performance benefits, Dow Polyurethane Systems utilizing RENUVA™ Renewable Resource Technology provide many environmental benefits to the polyurethane manufacturing process including:

• Reduce Fossil Fuel Usage up to 20 to 25%
• Lower Energy Costs Save up to 10%
• Reduce Carbon Footprint by 0.7 tons of CO₂ per ton of polyurethane
