Pads – Due to the excellent compressive strength properties of the DELTA THERM system, it can be used for pads to support the pipe off of the bottom of the ditch through rocky areas. The operator accomplishes this by pouring the foam in layers across the bottom of the ditch and building a pad to desired width and height. Because the DELTA THERM system is dispensed as a froth, it will stay where it is poured until it sets up, thus eliminating the need for forms.

Retards (water dikes) – These are an extension of the pads as described above. After the pad is formed in the ditch and the pipe is lowered in, the operator continues pouring up the sides and over the top of the pipes, forming a retard to within a foot of the top of the ditch.

Rock shields – For road crossings up to 400 ft. in length, a one-half inch probe is attached to the Eliminator Gun of sufficient length to reach half the length of the road crossing to be poured. The probe is inserted along the top of the pipe, the gun is actuated, and the probe is slowly pulled out. The foam flows down the sides of the pipe and rises to fill the cavity between the pipe and the road bore.
