Contributions and donations made available by Texas Operations are provided to support community success and sustainability for the residents of southern Brazoria County. In 2006, the Dow Employees United Way Drive raised more than $877,000 for the United Way of Brazoria County. Additionally, The Dow Chemical Company and The Dow Chemical Company Foundation provided more than $1.2 million in contributions to local and state-wide non-profit organizations and local public schools. This included a $335,000 donation to the United Way of Brazoria County and a $200,000 contribution to the City of Freeport to assist with its improvement project at Riverplace Conference Center. Also, Dow’s Community Grants Program identified and funded organizations with $200,000 for short-term projects with long-term benefits to local communities.
