Emissions

Chemical Emissions

There has been a 49 percent reduction in Chemical Emissions since the baseline year of 1994. Recent reductions are due to changes in the processing of a waste water stream.

Chemical Emissions

Emissions of Priority Compounds

There has been an 87 percent reduction in Priority Emissions since the baseline year of 1994. Recent reductions are due to changes in the processing of a vent stream.

Emissions of Priority Compounds

Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)

There has been a 53 percent reduction in Volatile Organic Compound Emissions since the baseline year of 1994.

Dioxin Emissions — Air & Water

There has been an 83 percent (Toxic Equivalents [TEQ]) and a 55 percent (Total Mass of 17 dioxin compounds [TM17]) reduction in dioxin emissions since 1995. Implementation of new technology has decreased the more toxic congeners, hence the decrease in TEQ (Toxic Equivalents) is not seen in TM17 (Total Mass).

Dioxin On-Site Landfill — Disposal

Landfill numbers are primarily composed of waste contained in on-site landfills, which are well contained. Recent increases are primarily due to optimizing new analysis technology.

Dioxin Treatment — On-Site Destruction

The implementation of new recycle technology has significantly reduced the amount of dioxins needing treatment.
