In 2006, SCO's Community Grants program provided $46,000 to 13 local agencies and community groups. The funds supported a broad array of projects in local communities.

The contributions and donations of St. Charles Operations (SCO) help to improve the quality of life for local residents in St. Charles Parish and surrounding areas.

Dow donations in excess of $300,000 went toward educational, diversity, health, community grants and environmental causes in the local community. Through contributions and volunteer participation in site events that included a golf tournament, site jambalaya cook-off and a fishing rodeo, Dow employees donated $285,000 for the site’s 2006-2007 United Way Campaign Drive. Corporate contributions amounted to $55,000, bringing the contribution total to $325,000 for United Way.

SCO also partnered with the St. Charles Parish Public School System to implement a Hands-on Science Program that is a $40,000/year commitment for five years.
