Progress towards Implementation of Responsible Care^®

In addition to a strong dedication to a Vision of Zero incidents, no injuries and no harm to the environment, Louisiana Operations is a leader in the local Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) and Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). These efforts have resulted in national recognition as one of the nation's best emergency preparedness and response programs. In addition, Dow employees also go door-to-door to visit about 1,400 neighbors each year to listen and respond to their questions and suggestions.

Progress on Codes of Business Management Practice

"Practice in Place" has been attained for all elements of the six Responsible Care Codes of Management Practice. To provide continuous improvement, an Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) is being implemented to document and facilitate use of best knowledge and practices. ODMS reflects ISO 14000 and ISO 9000 requirements.
