Number of Incidents

Governmental reportable performance in 2006 was our best annual performance in the last seven years, and 54 percent better than performance in 1994. Our improved performance in leaks, breaks and spills contributed significantly to the improvement in government reportables.

Notices of Violations (NOV) and Compliance Orders

Dow’s goal is zero NOV’s and Compliance Orders. We will continue to focus on improving our processes to meet this goal.

Fines and Penalties

Louisiana Operations had one fine of $2,821 from the Louisiana State Police as a result of a spill of sulfuric acid at one of the operating facilities. The material was contained and neutralized.

Number of Community Complaints

The Dow Hotline, (225) 353-2DOW or 2369, is available for anyone to call in a question or concern. Whenever a call is received, Dow Emergency Services & Security or Public Affairs responds as quickly as possible to ensure that the caller's request is met. Examples of inquiries are delays in traffic due to Dow's train crossing the highway, a request for information or a suggestion.
