About Us

Houston Operations is located in the city of La Porte. A facility in Deer Park, which included DAXAD™ dispersant and glycine businesses, was sold in November after reaching an agreement with GEO Specialty Chemicals. The agreement with GEO confirms Dow emphasis on portfolio management focusing resources on businesses that are better positioned for long-term sustainability and value creation within Dow.

The site expands over 200 acres with five manufacturing facilities that represent three of Dow’s global businesses. The businesses at Houston Operations include Polyurethanes, Fabricated Products and Engineering Plastics. Houston Operations produces over 395 million pounds each year which are transported primarily by truck and rail.

Environment Health and Safety are top priorities at Houston Operations. The facility has a strong history of safety performance. Houston Operations has received several awards for safety and was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency as the 1000th facility in the nation to achieve the EPA’s environmental indicators. This and other honors that the site has received demonstrate the hard work and commitment that employees have to making Houston Operations a safe and productive place to work.
