Deer Park and La Porte School Districts

Houston Operations is very active with Deer Park and La Porte school districts. The site sponsors Dow Day, a field day with games and refreshments for students at the Baker Sixth Grade School. The event is hosted by Dow employees and rewards the students for their hard work on the state mandated test.

Comeback Kids

Houston area winners of the 2005 Comeback
Kids Awards were honored at a luncheon
and a tour of the Downtown Aquarium.

Students from the La Porte and Deer Park community are selected each year to receive The Dow Chemical Comeback Kids Award. This award is presented to students selected by their schools for this honor. The Comeback Kids Award is given to students who have overcome adversity to complete a successful school year. Over 25 students from local school districts receive the award annually.

Junior Achievement

Houston Operations employees are active with Junior Achievement, serving as volunteers at two local schools.

San Jacinto Junior College

Houston Operations continues its growing relationship with the San Jacinto Junior College. The site is very supportive of the Process Technology program and provides scholarships to help students obtain degrees in this area.
