Community Advisory Councils (CACs)

Houston Operations is one of a number of companies very active with the La Porte Community Advisory Panel (CAC). The site manager and Environmental Health and Safety leader attend the meetings that are held once a month at the Lou Lawler Seafarers Center. These meetings provide citizens the opportunity to learn more about plant operations and safety performance.

In 2005, the La Porte CAC reviewed and discussed a number of topics including Hurricane Preparedness and evacuation procedures at the plants. The CAC reviewed emissions reports from plants and discussed the improvements to emergency response plans.
