Seadrift Operations — Where Giving is Improved Daily
Good neighbors seem to always be there when you need them and Seadrift Operations employees are no exception! Our employees are committed to volunteering in their communities with groups such as local fire departments, youth sports organizations, churches, classrooms.... and the list goes on. This strong belief in caring and giving to others is something that's not left at home when our employees come to work. The Dow Chemical Company and subsidiaries like Union Carbide Corporation have long been recognized as companies that communities can count on for charitable contributions and "rolling up one’s sleeves." Celebrating 50 years of operations in 2004 was but one reason that Seadrift Operations, with the generosity of The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, was privileged to help the Victoria Chapter of Habitat for Humanity complete its 50th home. The site also launched a "Dow Community Grants Program" which helped identify and complete several community projects by providing more than $37,000 in funding.
Other key initiatives included science and chemistry presentations to local public school students by the resident Science Demonstration Team and service as judges at science fairs by members of the site’s Affinity Networks.
