Seadrift’s commitment to Sustainable Development is at the core of everything we do. Within the framework of social responsibility, environmental stewardship and economic development, we direct our efforts.
- Social Responsibility
In 2004, Seadrift Operations, through the generosity of The Dow Chemical Company’s charitable giving program, provided more than $180,000 in funding to non-profit communities and public schools. The site also provided material and in-kind donations to assist the community.
- Environmental Stewardship
2004 marked the 10th year of funding support and employee volunteer involvement in the communities’ Household Hazardous Waste Day collection and disposal event. We’re proud to share in a commitment for the responsible handling and disposal of wastes so future generations can enjoy a clean and healthy environment.
- Education
Educational outreach programs included tutoring, mentoring, career and environmental presentations, hands-on science support, and involvement with at-risk youth for primary and secondary schools. Seadrift continues to remain actively engaged with the Victoria College's two-year process operator and instrument technician programs and higher education outreach efforts with the University of Houston-Victoria.
