2004 was a record year for Dow and a record year for the Rhine Center. In 2004, Dow was faced with the globalization of our industry and extremely high energy costs. As a result of these challenging business conditions, Dow made the changes needed to deliver great results. At the Rhine Center, we contributed to the success of Dow by delivering better EH&S performance, high quality products, along with the service our customers expect and deserve. In the community, employees of the Rhine Center continued to participate and “give back” to further enhance our relationships. We continue to benefit from an open and honest dialogue with our neighbors.

Our Rhine Center vision is to be the “Bridge to Success” for our key stakeholders. To achieve this vision, we will continue to hire the best people, operate our plants in the safest and most productive manner, deliver service our customers expect, and actively participate in our community. In 2004, Rhine Center employees demonstrated great energy and commitment as we managed through the challenges. I fully expect that this energy and commitment will make us successful in 2005 and beyond.
