Overview
Corporate Social Responsibility reflects Dow's total involvement with the countries in which we have a presence and with our local communities.
One important element is our contributions programmes, which identify opportunities for Dow to make a real difference in the communities where we do business.
In some cases we help through donations of cash or materials. Elsewhere our own employees become intimately involved with our community partners.
We are very proud of our community programmes, and we are particular pleased that a number of them, including some of those described here, represent the latest installment in activities which have continued over several years and have helped develop genuine long-lasting relationships with these community organisations.
Here are just a few of our projects:
- Support for science education at secondary schools near Altona, Australia
- Help establish a heath clinic in Tsing Yi in Hong Kong
- Providing clean water for hospitals in Vietnam
- A school education programme at Batangas in the Philippines
- A public library project at Handa City, near our plant at Kina Ura, Japan
- The Seeds of Love project for under privileged children in Singapore
- Water purification for schools in rural China
- Volunteer tutoring by company employees in the school at Kerteh, Malaysia
- A health clinic near our plant at Cimanggis in Indonesia
- The Happy Class school project in Korea
These and many other projects reflect Dow's commitment to making our local communities better places to live and to promoting the education and health of the next generation.
