Houston Operations Leader Ken Hanchey receives the Gold Award from ACC Region 1 for overall Responsible Care Performance.

Houston Operations is comprised of the Deer Park site and the La Porte site. The sites expand over 300 acres with seven manufacturing facilities that represent three of Dow's global businesses.
The businesses at Houston Operations include Polyurethanes, Fabricated Products, Engineering Plastics and Specialty Chemicals. Houston Operations produces over 800 million pounds each year which are transported primarily by truck and rail.
Environment, Health and Safety are top priorities at Houston Operations, and this is evident in the facility's strong safety record. Last year, the La Porte site received the Vice President's Award, the highest safety award that can be achieved within Dow. In addition, in 2003 the site received the American Chemistry Council Region 1 Responsible Care® Award. This award honors sites that demonstrate comprehensive practice-in-place for all six Responsible Care Codes. The award recognizes the long-term emphasis on safety for employees, plants and the community.
These accomplishments demonstrate the hard work and commitment of employees to make Dow Houston Operations a safe and productive work environment.
