Dow Announces Price Increase for Propylene Glycols

Midland, MI - September 15, 2005

The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") will increase its prices by $0.05 per pound in the Americas and the Caribbean for propylene glycols, effective October 1, 2005.

The products to which this price increase applies are: propylene glycol industrial grade (PGI), propylene glycol USP/EP grade (PG USP/EP), dipropylene glycol grade (DPG), dipropylene glycol LO+ grade (DPG LO+), tripropylene glycol regular grade (TPG), and tripropylene glycol acrylate grade (TPG AG).

This increase is in addition to two previously announced price increases with effective dates of September 1, and October 1, 2005. With today's increase, the total increase to Dow's propylene glycols selling prices are as follows:

  • For PG USP/EP and PGI, a combined increase of $.17 per pound.
  • For DPG and DPG LO+, a combined increase of $.22 per pound.
  • For TPG and TPG AG, a combined increase of $.17 per pound.
