Acrylic Monomers Acrylic acid serves as an essential building block in the production of many useful and important industrial and consumer products.

Acrylic acid is used to produce acrylic esters including methyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, which are then polymerized and used as ingredients in paints, coatings, textiles, adhesives and many other applications. Acrylic acid is also used to produce polyacrylic acid, or crosslinked polyacrylic acid compounds, which are used in the manufacture of detergents and waste water treatment chemicals as well as superabsorbent polymers for diapers and hygiene products.
BIOCARE™ Polymer Hyaluronic acid complexes for use in skin care applications (see Amerchol Corporation)
Biocides Used to prevent growth of microorganisms in personal care products.
CARBOWAX** PEGs and MPEGs Coupling agents, solvents, vehicles, humectants, lubricants, binders, and bases for a wide range of product formulations.
CELLOSIZE** Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Hydroxyethyl cellulose (see Amerchol Corporation)
Glycerine Dow Glycerine products are some of the most valuable ingredients and perhaps the most basic raw materials found within the personal care realm. Dow offers three grades of high quality glycerine: OPTIM* Glycerine 99.7% USP, Dow Glycerine 99.5% USP, and Dow Glycerine 96%.
HYPOD™ Polyolefin Dispersions An exceptional balance of properties is now possible, thanks to HYPOD™ Polyolefin Dispersions.
KYTAMER™ PCA Chitosan derivatives (see Amerchol Corporation)
METHOCEL* Cellulose Ethers Water soluble polymers, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and methylcellulose (see Amerchol Corporation)
Oxygenated Solvents n-Butanol, n-Butyl Acetate, Isobutyl Acetate, Isopropanol (Anhydrous), Isopropyl Acetate, Primary Amyl Acetate, n-Propanol, Propionic Acid, n-Propyl Acetate, Vinyl Acetate Monomer
POLYOX** Water-Soluble Resin Water soluble resins, poly (ethylene) oxide (see Amerchol Corporation)
Polypropylene Glycols and Copolymers Skin conditioning agents, solvents, and surfactants/ emulsifiers for use in a wide range of formulations.
Propylene Glycols Propylene Glycols (PG) play a significant role in the manufacture of many industrial and end-use products, such as: antifreezes; coolants; aircraft and runway deicing fluids; heat transfer fluids; solvent fluids; flavors and fragrances; cosmetics and personal care products; pharmaceuticals; chemical intermediates; hydraulic fluids; plasticizers and thermoset plastics. Dow’s extensive, global PG and derivatives offering includes: Propylene Glycol Industrial Grade (PGI); Propylene Glycol USP/EP Grade (PG USP/EP); Dipropylene Glycol Regular Grade (DPG); Dipropylene Glycol LO+ Grade (DPG LO+); Tripropylene Glycol Regular Grade (TPG) and Tripropylene Glycol Acrylate Grade (TPG Ac).
Propylene Oxide Propylene Oxide is a versatile chemical intermediate used in a wide range of industrial and commercial products, including polyether polyols, propylene glycols and propylene glycol ethers. Polyether polyols are one of the main components in the production of urethanes, which are used in many consumer applications, such as rigid foam insulation and flexible foam seat cushions. Propylene glycols are used in a wide variety of end-use applications, from cosmetics and household detergents to paints and automotive brake fluids. Other products made using propylene oxide are: flame retardants, modified carbohydrates (starches), synthetic lubricants, oil-drilling chemicals and textile surfactants.
SOFTCAT™ Polymer Polyquaternium-67, conditioning polymers for use in hair and skin care applications (see Amerchol Corporation)
UCARE** Polymer Conditioning polymers, Polyquaternium-10
UCON** Fluids Cosmetic fluids and emollients for a wide range of personal care and cosmetic formulations.
VERSENE™ Chelating Agents VERSENE™ Chelating Agents can deter oxidation that negatively affects the clarity, color and fragrance of lotions, creams, oils and shampoos. Use of 0.05 to 0.1% in personal care products can boost antimicrobial performance. It also binds well with soap products, increasing lather.
Vinyl Acetate Monomer Vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) is an essential chemical building block used in a wide variety of industrial and consumer products. VAM is a key ingredient in emulsion polymers, resins and intermediates used in paints, adhesives, coatings, textiles, wire and cable polyethylene compounds, laminated safety glass, packaging, automotive plastic fuel tanks and acrylic fibers.
