Dow has been a leader in the packaging industry for decades, offering one of the widest array of resins, film substrates and other materials for developing tomorrow’s sustainable packaging solutions today to help converters meet consumer demand. Product packaging is often used as a marketing tool in and of itself. Our plastics are up to this challenge — offering excellent aesthetics and printability. 

Dow offers a variety of film substrates and resins for flexible packaging in applications including food and beverage packaging, stretch or shrink films, stretch hoods, and heavy-duty shipping sacks (HDSS). Rigid packaging applications include resins for caps and closures and multi-use containers. Our family of specialty films are used in window envelope films, protective clothing, medical packaging, and corrosion and abrasion resistant films in corrugated steel pipe applications. Latexes from Dow are used in a wide array of paper and paperboard coating applications.

Adhesives/Laminates
AFFINITY™ Polyolefin Plastomers (POP) use INSITE™ Technology to offer narrower molecular weight distributions (MWDs) and comonomer distributions, both of which can significantly improve the toughness, clarity, breathability, sealability, taste/odor performance, and other properties critical to flexible applications like Fresh Cut Produce. AFFINITY POPs are especially valuable in high-speed, form-fill-seal applications, and are used in multi-layer bags and pouches, shrink films, molded goods, heavy-duty bags and sacks (HDSS) and other applications that require both thermoplastic and elastic properties.
AFFINITY™ GA Polyolefin Plastomers use INSITE™ Technology to bring end-user advantages not previously achievable with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) hot-melt adhesive formulations. These polymers help you reliably stick boxes and other substrates together over a broad range of temperatures with more powerful bonds, less plugging and clogging, greater sealing mileage per pound, less downtime and maintenance and improved packaging economy. Applications include case and carton sealing, multi-wall structure fabrication, non-woven construction and food and beverage packaging.
The family of AMPLIFY™ Functional Polymers is used primarily in adhesive applications for sealants, peelable seals and tie-layers in food packaging. AMPLIFY™ GR Functional Polymers have excellent adhesion to nylon, metal, polyolefins, cellulose, polyester and glass and are useful in packaging — especially as adhesive tie layers. Packaging Applications include foil pouches and bags, flexible tubing (toothpaste) and sealants in display packaging.
AMPLIFY™ IO Functional Polymers help provide tough mar resistance in coatings and are excellent in tie layers and sealants in packaging applications. AMPLIFY™ IO Ionomers also offer good optics and general toughness. Packaging applications include beverage pouches, processed meats, cereals and snack and confection.
DOW™ Adhesive Film (DAF) is a low melt point, coextruded film used to improve slip characteristics of polyurethane foam for carpet installation or other similar applications.
ECHELON™ Polyurethane Prepolymers blends and modifiers, adhesives and sealants and flexible packaging films.
Epoxy resins are used as coatings in metal cans/packaging to keep metal ions from entering food and beverages, preserving the taste and shelf life of the products.
HYPOD™ polyolefin dispersions put high molecular weight polyolefins into a water-based dispersion to enable customers to create differentiated products or structures, eliminate solvent-related issues and/or lower systems costs. HYPOD Polyolefin Dispersions can be used in food packaging and are particularly suitable for pet food bags, pizza boxes and sandwich wrappers.

NYLOPAK™ Nylon Barrier Film is based on a coextrusion of polyolefins and nylon resin film typically used for food packaging applications (cheeses), industrial packaging film and textile lamination films.  Providing a proven barrier to odors, gases, oxygen and moisture, it has good heat and impulse sealability, good contact clarity (optics) and can be corona treated for improved printability and ink adhesion. 
OPTICITE™ Label Films are based on polystyrene and polyolefin polymers and their blends.  They offer an excellent label alternative with excellent roll conformity and stiffness. Reduced on-the-press elongation provides better registration and definition of graphics, and labels produced from Dow films have bright sharp graphics, excellent moisture and stain resistance and dimensional stability.
PRIMACOR™ Copolymers are durable adhesive resins that bond with many substrates, including foil and metal. They have low moisture transmission and are resistant to most greases, oils and chemicals, making them an excellent choice for sealants and tie layers in demanding packaging applications. PRIMACOR Copolymers can be used in packaging snack foods, dry mixes, processed meats, frozen foods, fresh produce, toothpaste, condiments and for retail display packaging. PRIMACOR Copolymers are also used as laminates for cartons and pouches.

AMPLIFY™ EA Functional Polymers work well in lamination film, flexible tubing and tie layer adhesives. They are easy to process, have excellent pigment retention and feature functional adhesion to substrates.
AMPLIFY™ GR Functional Polymers have excellent adhesion to nylon, metal, polyolefins, cellulose, polyester and glass and are useful in packaging — especially as adhesive tie layers. Packaging Applications include foil pouches and bags, flexible tubing (toothpaste) and sealants in display packaging.
HYPOD™ polyolefin dispersions put high molecular weight polyolefins into a water-based dispersion to enable customers to create differentiated products or structures, eliminate solvent-related issues and/or lower systems costs. HYPOD Polyolefin Dispersions can be used in food packaging and are particularly suitable for pet food bags, pizza boxes and sandwich wrappers.
PRIMACOR™ Copolymers are durable adhesive resins that bond with many substrates, including foil and metal. They have low moisture transmission and are resistant to most greases, oils, and chemicals, making them an excellent choice for sealants and tie layers in demanding packaging applications. PRIMACOR Copolymers can be used in packaging snack foods, dry mixes, processed meats, frozen foods, fresh produce, toothpaste, condiments and for retail display packaging. PRIMACOR Copolymers are also used as laminates for cartons and pouches.
SARANEX™ Barrier Films are coextruded, multilayered films that provide the proven barrier properties of SARAN™ Resins plus the machinability, printability and the functionality of the polyolefin skins.  These films offer a balance of barrier properties, toughness, chemical resistance, softness, flexibility and good economics in a single film structure for use in a wide array of packaging applications including ostomy appliances, pharmaceutical blister packs, cap liners, food packaging applications (meat, cheese, and sausage chubs) and textile lamination for protective clothing.
