Derivatives of Ethylene Oxide (EO) are used as a chemical intermediate to produce automotive coolants and antifreezes, aircraft and runway deicers and raw materials for automotive parts such as seating.
Outstanding chemical resistance and weatherability make glycidyl methacyrlate (GMA) an excellent choice for a wide range of high-performance automotive coatings applications. GMA helps make paint and powder coating finishes tougher and clearer.
Isopropanolamines help in solubilizing the resin, complexing metals, adhesion, curing the resin, water resistance and asphalt to aggregate adhesion.
Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is a component of shatter-proof safety glass for automotive windshields and the adhesives that keeps windshields in place. It's also used in the production of other automotive parts such as fuel tanks.
Road & Highway Improvement
Dow Automotive provides technology and materials-enabled solutions for automotive interior, exterior, powertrain, vehicle structural enhancement, acoustic management, emissions control and aftermarket applications.
HYPERLAST™ polyurethanes are used as adhesives and sealants in filters to adhere the element to the housing. Offering includes adhesive-coated metal end caps for fuel and oil filters.
Solvents
Dow Automotive provides technology and materials-enabled solutions for automotive interior, exterior, powertrain, vehicle structural enhancement, acoustic management, emissions control and aftermarket applications.
Ethylene Glycol (EG) is used as a chemical intermediate to produce aircraft and runway deicers as well as automotive fluids such as coolants and antifreezes.
HYPOD™ polyolefin dispersions put high molecular weight polyolefins into a water-based dispersion to enable customers to create differentiated products or structures, eliminate solvent-related issues and/or lower systems costs.
Dow Oxygenated Solvents are used in the automotive refinishing lacquers and enamels industry. These products control the evaporation rate to create a tack-free condition and keep the film surface permeable so the latent solvent can evaporate. Products include DOWANOL™ PM glycol ethers, DOWANOL DPM glycol ethers, Butyl CELLOSOLVE™, Butyl CARBITOL™ Diisobutyl Ketone (DIBK), Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK), UCAR™ n-Propyl Propionate and UNOXOL™ Diol.
Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is a component of shatter-proof safety glass for automotive windshields and the adhesives that keeps windshields in place. It's also used in the production of other automotive parts such as fuel tanks.
Transportation Infrastructure
Additives commonly used in the manufacture of lube oil and fuel additives, asphalt additives, paper wet-strength resins and in many other applications. Products include Monoethanolamine, Diethanolamine and Triethanolamine.
Dow Automotive provides technology and materials-enabled solutions for automotive interior, exterior, powertrain, vehicle structural enhancement, acoustic management, emissions control and aftermarket applications.
SERIES-SIX™ polyurethane encapsulation for light rail applications.
With its rapid setting, low temperature application, TRAFFIDECK™ forms a tough, highly durable seamless but flexible membrane with no vulnerable joints. It is resistant from automotive fluids, salts and dilute mineral acids, thus ensuring no stalactite formation and subsequent concrete cracking. Applications include parking decks, roofs and balconies, bridge and marine decks, and more.
For rail ballast stabilization and embankment stabilization.
