Isophorone

A high-boiling, low pressure solvent made up of 3,5,5-Trimethyl-2-cyclo-hexen-1-one Isoacetopherone. A chemical intermediate and a choice solvent for many natural and synthetic polymers.

Used in:

  • Solvent for natural and synthetic polymers
  • Solvent for vinyl chloride-acetate based coatings
  • Carrier solvent for pesticide and herbicides
  • Chemical intermediate

Advantages:

  • Slightly soluble in water
  • Miscible with most lacquer solvents
  • High dilution ratio for aromatic hydrocarbons
  • Leveling aid for a variety of resins
