Low-emission PU foams offer improved interior air qualityUltra low emission seating system to exceed VOC and FOG requirements
Schwalbach - March 25, 2009 Dow Automotive responds to the increasing requirements for improved cabin air quality by introducing low emission polyurethane foams. The new foams from Dow Automotive enable OEMs to achieve improved air quality while delivering advanced technical properties for applications like arm-rests, head-rests and seats. The latest generation of SPECFLEX ultra low emission seating systems exceeds the challenging conditions required by OEMs such as the VDA 278 regulation in Germany, and the specification levels required for certain chemicals, such as formaldehydes. At the same time, SPECFLEX meets the most demanding, long-term aging requirements for seating applications set by premium OEMs This achievement is a result of Dow's expertise in the area of low VOC/FOG, starting with the basic raw materials, including VORANOL™VORACTIV™ advanced polyol grades, along with the specific formulation know-how and technologies refined over years by the global Dow Polyurethanes System House organization.
