On November 3, 2011, Sidaplax v.o.f., located in Gentbrugge (Belgium) will take over all sales and distribution activities regarding window envelope films from Dow Europe GmbH for the following regions: Europe (excluding Italy, Spain and Portugal), Middle East and Africa. The agreement with Sidaplax complements the already existing relationships Dow has with two other distributors, MecPac SRL for Italy and Extrusion Resinas Vinilicas SA (Ervisa) for Spain and Portugal.
Dow will continue to focus on the production of window envelope films and resins but has decided to transfer its sales activities related to the window envelope film market to Sidaplax. "It is our business philosophy to be close to our customers and to be able to provide them with more than just the product", explained Roland Peyre, Commercial Manager Specialty Markets for the Performance Plastics Division at Dow Europe.
As the window envelope film market is limited in size and the Dow account managers serve multiple markets, transferring the sales in this specific case to Sidaplax will be beneficial for the customers of Dow. Roland Peyre: "After many years of successful collaboration with Ervisa covering Spain and Portugal and MecPac covering Italy, with whom we’ve been able to establish a leading position in these countries, we are keen at applying the same approach to the rest of the EMEA region through the distribution agreement with Sidaplax. This company has a thorough understanding of the market and an agile and flexible distribution system. Under the distribution agreement, Dow customers will gain access to Sidaplax' vast expertise and tailor made services, and Dow believes this will be a very interesting offer to our current customers".
During the coming weeks, Dow and Sidaplax will work together diligently to ensure a smooth transition process and prevent any disruption of supply.
