Spotlight on a 20-Year Old Pipe
The lead story in this issue of Pipes Insights calls to mind the English idiom "Put your money where your mouth is," meaning to support something you believe in. Instead of highlighting a customer's use of Dow pipe resins, we present a case study on the performance of a pipe system made with DOWLEX™ 2344 PE-RT resin that was installed 20 years ago in a building at Dow's European headquarters in Horgen, Switzerland. This issue also spotlights the experienced laboratory technicians, installations and facilities that are available to Dow's European pipe customers. In addition, it features an "Ask The Experts" column in which Detlef Schramm (Application Technology Leader for Pipes and Geomembranes for Dow Europe GmbH) and Amaia Bastero (Technical Services & Development engineer for Pipes) provide their outlook on the key pipe trends for 2010. Last but not least, we include a short report on Dow's participation at SKZ's Plastic Piping Systems Eurasia (September 29-30 in Istanbul, Turkey) and Neuigkeiten in der Extrusion (November 11-12, Wurzburg, Germany).
