Welcome to Dow Pittsburg Operations
Dow Pittsburg Operations is located about an hour east of San Francisco and has both manufacturing and research facilities supporting two of six global Dow businesses, including Dow AgroSciences and Performance Chemicals. Pittsburg Operations is one of 156 manufacturing sites located in 37 countries around the world. We are proud to be celebrating 70 years in the Pittsburg community in 2009!
Our site is a city within a city. The facilities here are powered by electricity and steam energy from Calpine, as well as solar energy from a nearby solar farm installed in 2008. We implemented an integrated waste management system for operational wastes, and we recycle and reuse our waste whenever possible. As a result, no process water is sent to the river. We also have our own fire brigade, security team, medical facilities and cafeteria.
