Dow Oxygenated Solvents To Increase Prices August 1

Midland, MI - July 02, 2008

Effective August 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, The Dow Chemical Company will increase both list and off-list selling prices on select products within the Oxygenated Solvents portfolio. Additionally, many of our products remain on 100% order control.

The need for these increases continues to be driven by the rising costs of crude oil, energy, and other hydrocarbon feed stocks to unprecedented levels. It is imperative that we raise our prices to keep pace with global energy costs.

In addition to the price increase, effective August 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, Dow will increase its drum upcharge by US$0.05/lb for all product sold by drum in North America.
