Dow Oxygenated Solvents to Raise Prices

Midland, MI - June 05, 2008

The Dow Chemical Company announced that it will raise prices in North America for products in the Oxygenated Solvents portfolio effective July 1, 2008, or as contracts allow. This increase is driven by the continuous rise in hydrocarbon and energy costs.

“Escalating raw materials and energy costs are a global phenomenon and need to be recognized,” says Martin Sutcliffe, global business director, Glycol Ethers. “Given the recent surge in costs, full implementation of this price increase is a necessity.”

“The unprecedented rise in raw material costs is affecting all parts of the value chain,” says Carol Miller, global business director, Solvents & Intermediates. “Based on our continued commitment to provide quality products and services to our customers globally, we must pass these costs on to our customers.”
