Dow to Raise Prices of Oxygenated Solvents Products

Midland, MI - November 06, 2007

The Dow Chemical Company announced today that it will raise both list and off-list prices on a number of its Oxygenated Solvents products in North America effective December 1, 2007, or as contracts allow. The need for this increase is primarily driven by the continuous rise of raw material and energy costs and the tight supply in the raw material market.

“The fundamental challenge of high and volatile raw material is something we have been managing for the last 3 years,” says Martin Sutcliffe, global business director, Glycol Ethers. “With key raw material costs at new record levels and challenging supply/demand dynamics, the price increases we have announced through out the fourth quarter are imperative.”
