Coil coating involves applying a continuous protective finish to metal rolled in large coils. Typically, coil coating systems are solvent-based, low-solids systems. However, higher solids systems are being used more. The fuel value of the DOW products maintains high oven temperatures since they have relatively high BTU values.

Several DOW products meet the requirements for coil coatings, especially those with high boiling points: DOWANOL* DPM, TPM, PMA and DPMA, Butyl CELLOSOLVE** Solvent, Methyl CARBITOL** Solvent and Butyl CARBITOL Solvent.
