Dow Wire & Cable Introduces DOW ENDURANCE™

Dow Wire & Cable, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, is excited to introduce the DOW ENDURANCE™ family of semiconductive and insulation materials for medium voltage (MV), high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) cable constructions that are made to last for decades of service.

DOW ENDURANCE comprises Dow Wire & Cable's heritage line of MV, HV and EHV materials with proven performance over the last two decades. DOW ENDURANCE MV 4202 has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary of underground (UG) cable installation showing little to no wear in that time frame. Based on those results, life expectancy is estimated to be at least 40 years. Similarly, DOW ENDURANCE HV and EHV materials have been used globally for cables ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV for over 10 years.
To further reinforce this product family, Dow Wire & Cable has instituted a new program, called Dow Inside, the purpose of which is to work closely with selected cable manufacturers to produce reliable cables that can meet new rigorous performance specifications that even may exceed the current minimum requirements. By combining DOW ENDURANCE™ materials with new global standards, utilities can expect improved reliability that may lead to lower lifetime costs and reduced operation and maintenance expense.
