Dow Coating Solutions Announces Price Increases for Latex Emulsion Product

Cary, N.C. - May 19, 2008

Dow Coating Solutions, a market-facing business of The Dow Chemical Company, is increasing the off-list prices of its latex emulsion products.

Effective June 1, 2008, for all North American customers, Dow will increase the price by US$0.04 / wet pound for all UCAR™ acrylic, vinyl acrylic, styrene acrylic, and styrene butadiene latexes, EVOCAR™ latexes, NEOCAR™ acrylics and latexes, and UCAR POLYPHOBE™ rheology modifiers.

This increase applies to all market segments, including architectural and industrial coatings, construction products, adhesives and sealants, and traffic coatings.

This action is driven by the ongoing escalation in key raw material costs, particularly oil and natural gas, which impacts all downstream chemicals as well as the energy cost to manufacture and deliver these latex products.
