Pat Dawson, Asia Pacific President, The Dow Chemical Company, addressed business executives, government leaders and media while speaking at the panel session on “Infrastructure for Sustainable Growth” within the APEC CEO Summit on September 7, 2012 in Vladivostok, Russia.

“Infrastructure builds certainty for investors, creates jobs and opportunities, and delivers products and services to improve people's lives,” stated Pat Dawson.

The panel highlighted the importance of enhanced cooperation between the private and public sectors to develop the most efficient and integrated infrastructure to deliver economic growth. The panel included Dawson as well as fellow speakers Oleg Deripaska, President of EN+ Group and CEO of UC RUSAL; Vladimir Dmitriev, CEO of VEB; Oleg Budargin, Chairman, FGC UES; Ziyavudin Magomedov, Chairman of the Board of Summa Group and ABAC Chair; Yang Bong Jin, CEO, Hyundai Energy and Resources Ltd; and moderator Aleksandr Gabuev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Kommersant Vlast’ Weekly.

Dow was a sponsor of the 24th APEC CEO Summit, which hosted approximately 700 attendees from more than 500 companies and 11 government leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, People’s Republic of China President Hu Jintao, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Under this year’s Russian Chairmanship of APEC, the CEO Summit in Vladivostok was built around the theme of “Addressing Challenges. Expanding Possibilities”. It allowed an exchange of ideas between business and government leaders on key issues for economic growth – from energy policy to trade liberalization to infrastructure development.
