As the foreign co-chair of the 2012 China Development Forum, Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Dow Chemical Company, today delivered remarks during the Forum’s Opening Ceremony alongside his Chinese co-chair Minister Li Wei, President of the Development Research Center of the State Council.
The China Development Forum is attended by more than 200 overseas delegates including the leaders of more than 70 Fortune 500 companies, international organizations, senior officials and internationally renowned scholars. Also attending are more than 130 officials from the Chinese government, academia and the business community's most influential policy makers, researchers and leaders. As co-chair, Liveris is leading the delegation of the non-Chinese attendees at this annual conference held in Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
With the theme of the conference being, “China and the World: Macro-Stabilization and Economic Restructuring”, the focus is on the macroeconomic stabilization and structural adjustment, fiscal policy and tax reform, internal and external balance of economic, as well as on scientific and technological innovation of the China economy.
